La Galette De France – Nedlands

Today, I had breakfast with Skye at La Galette De France in their Nedlands store. It was a nice day – the drizzle cleared up when we arrived there which was a relief, because the only available tables were outside.

Breakfast

As you can see from this picture, we were both trying to take pictures of our food :)

Skye ordered a plain croissant. It was light and tasty!

Food came out very quickly, I was sitting at the table whilst Skye ordered for me and strangely, my crepe came out before she did. Meanwhile, I had a sugar and cinnamon crepe and although it was well made, I regretted not ordering the sugar and lemon – the acidic kick of lemon would have been nice. I have no complaints about the hot chocolate – it had a smooth consistency, chocolatey taste and a reasonable sweetness level.

On the way out, I purchased one mango macaron ($2.80 ea), which looked very cute and was a sedate orange colour. I have never had a macaron before – my curiosity overcame me and I ate it before I had a chance to take a photo. It was delicious and I could definitely taste the mango. They had quite a variety of flavours: guava, lavender, cherry, amongst others.

Skye bought a few of them for takeaway, they’re currently sitting in her fridge – perhaps she’ll post some pictures of those on her blog sometime soon!
