Dropped by La Galette de France in Nedlands again to get a couple macarons and took the opportunity for photographs before consumption. I have wanted to try out using coloured paper for a while and rustled up this pink piece from a drawer. I set it down next to a large window for photographs and my brother kindly helped hold it up at the back so the horizon would not be visible. I like the simplicity of the pink paper. It’s plain, but clean.

I felt like I could not get close enough with my Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens, which has a minimum focusing distance of 45cm. I had to crop almost all of these pictures to get the macarons at the size I wanted. I suspect it’s time to look into acquiring an extension tube, which will allow a closer focusing distance with greater magnification.

My brother’s help was rewarded with pistachio macaron :D

I had the raspberry and chocolate one. It was so good, there was some soft, sugary raspberry inside as well as a rich chocolate cream.
