Sewing, food, more sewing – August 10 on 10

I am having trouble finding the words this month, so here are a handful of half-sentences and a collage. I find it easier to write about being relaxed and happy but things are a little off-kilter this month. I wish I could have created something prettier for this month’s peek into my life, be more inspired by the things around me, but my brain is full of todo lists and keeping track of assignments and other projects. Maybe next month I’ll do better.

Sewed a costume for a friend’s birthday party while Tom kept me company, playing Civilisation V. Clouds looked amazing outside at noon. Beef kuey teow and chicken mee goreng at Makan Makan. Sneaked pictures of Tom before he could pose.  Cycled infront of the television and watched Jamie Oliver cook sausage casserole on the food network. Sewed some more, for hours, it always takes longer than you think it will.

My respect for the work that cosplayers produce has increased infinitely since attempting this costume project. Mine has crooked edges and threads going everywhere. I knew it was hard, but actually going through the process gives me a completely new appreciation of exactly how much work goes into making a costume.

My tasty lunch and Tom’s amazing eyes:

CrisStephens - Sabrina I love seeing your creativity. What you can built from “nothing”. Love what you do, love the artist inside you! Beautiful photographs!

Jennifer - Sabrina~ Please come over and teach me how to use my sewing machine! I love the point of view of your images. Also, now I am hungry. ;) I think I may have said this before, but your editing style has a magazine quality that I absolutely adore and strive for in my own images.
