Road Trip to Esperance – Jan 10 on 10

I’m all ready to start a new year of “10 on 10″ with a different group! Excited to find out more about the other ladies in our circle, month by month :) Just as a little introduction to the concept, it’s called “10 on 10” because I take 10 pictures on the 10th of each month. They’re supposed to be roughly 1 hour apart, so we get a kind of “day in the life of” sort of experience.

The day I chose to photograph was my road trip from Perth to Esperance! This is an 8 hour drive, and Tom drive down with me, he wanted to do most of the driving even though he was still sick from the bug we caught in China <3

It’s extremely challenging not to get sleepy on a drive like this! To accompany us on our drive down, we packed a playlist full of dance/dubstep/electronica and rocked our car across the dry landscapes of WA. At first it felt like epic, energising music but toward the end, I just wanted to curl up in a corner and sing along to some Disney tunes (this is to be added for the drive back ).

A little toy tiger that lives in my car. He was gifted to me from someone else’s McDonald’s Happy Meal and has been in my car ever since. He has since acquired a moustache.

I was so relieved when we finally got into Esperance! It’s a LONG drive, we will break it into 2 days on the way back so we can enjoy it a bit more… and perhaps take an alternative route that allows us to drive through some towns with better food.

By the time we got in, the closest supermarkets were closed so we had some tasty takeaway from Curry House for dinner! Butter Chicken seems to be my favourite Indian dish wherever I go :)
