Another collaboration with Skye (The Lost Princess), she has these delicate-looking vintage Gunne Sax dresses. I opted for natural lighting so I would not have to find someone to hold a reflector for me. We did this shoot early – mid morning, and you may not believe it but it was shot on this empty block which was right next to a very busy road. A couple of people have asked me about where I did “the country shoot” and I couldn’t figure out which shoot they were talking about until I realised they were talking about these photos!

A handful of ‘behind the scenes’ snaps after the jump :)
Skye constructed the flower wreath.

Walking through the flowers.

Skye sat on a blanket to avoid soiling the dress.

I had not braided since I was a little girl until this moment.

Natural light was less than optimum, and although I hate using photoshop to fix lighting errors it had to be done. With only one light source (aka. the sun) it would have been better to face a different direction than to be backlit by the sun but on our location there was no other angle we could have taken without including a substantial amount of ugly urban backdrop.

A retro-processed shot that doesn’t fit into the set!
